The PTAC Digital Innovation Forum 2026: Canadian Energy Powering Data Centers kicked off this morning with discussions that showed just how fast Alberta’s data center opportunities are growing.
Presentations this morning shared key insights on data centers as a strategic opportunity for Alberta, Alberta’s AI data center strategy, North America’s top destination for AI-enabled data center investments, Greenview's Wonder Valley Data Center Project, challenges in data center investments, powering behind-the-meter data centers, the 100MW behind-the-meter data center project, future data center power facilities, and the rise of blockchain and bitcoin opportunities in Western Canada’s energy sector.
This afternoon, the conversation continues with sessions on data centers and the Alberta Grid, the Palliser Grid Project, Entropy’s model for carbon capture options for data centres, and the latest technological innovations in data center deployments.
