A Small Anniversary
Today marks exactly 20 years since I first encountered gas engines cogeneration (CHP).
The first project ( at the pictured) was quite complex, both in terms of heat recovery (heating kerosene and hot water, using absorption refrigeration units (trigeneration)) and power generation (parallel operation with the grid, switching the entire plant to an island).
Followed by 3.5 years of shift work, then career advancement, working in the operation and construction of new CHP stations, including a project using Capstone microturbines.
After that, I worked as a service center manager for two distributors (Jenbacher and CAT (MWM)).
Then I relocated to Kazakhstan and worked on developing cogeneration in the Republic.
During this time, I was fortunate to work in various positions (shift engineer, project manager, service center manager, technical director) with various gas piston engines manufacturers (Jenbacher, MTU, CAT, MWM) and other companies, as large power plants typically include a large amount of auxiliary equipment (switchgear, boilers, waste heat boilers, absorption cooling units, etc.).
I hope that the experience I've gained will be in demand in the Republic of Kazakhstan as well :).
