After the most extraordinary year of my professional life, I’m stepping down as Executive Director of the Digital Power Network.
When
Cody Carbone
took a chance on me last year, we had a vision: build the strongest, most credible voice for Bitcoin miners in the United States. What followed exceeded anything I could have imagined.
It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve DPN’s members, some of the most forward-thinking, innovative, and resilient builders of this generation. Representing an industry that now accounts for 85%+ of U.S. public Bitcoin hash rate, we worked every day to ensure miners had a serious seat at the policy table.
This year took us everywhere.
• Testifying before the New York Legislature
• Filing 50+ federal and state comments across DOE, FERC, Treasury, USTR, and state commissions
• Traveling the country, from Wyoming to Texas to Vegas, meeting with lawmakers, regulators, and community leaders
• Hosting our Energy & Grid Innovation Roundtable with Senator Jim Justice (and of course, Baby Dog)
• Speaking at conferences at the Kennedy Center and beyond about the future of energy, infrastructure, and digital assets
But more than the milestones, it was the mission that mattered.
We fought to reframe Bitcoin mining as what it truly is: flexible load, grid stabilizer, methane mitigator, rural economic engine, and critical infrastructure for the digital age.
None of this would have been possible without
Sonya Murphy
my other half in this work. Her partnership, judgment, and relentless commitment to excellence made DPN what it became. Building alongside her has been one of the greatest privileges of this chapter.
This isn’t just goodbye to an incredible team at The Digital Chamber and DPN. It’s also a farewell, for now, to Washington, DC, the city I’ve proudly called home for the last six years.
DC shaped me. It challenged me. It gave me the arena to grow.
To our members: thank you for trusting me to represent you.
To our team: thank you for building something real.
To Sonya: thank you for being my partner in all of it.
And to Cody, thank you for taking the risk.
I’m off to a new adventure that I’ll share publicly soon. I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
Onward.
