This February, our team at CR&R welcomed representatives from the City of Laguna Beach and Midway City Sanitary District to our Perris Anaerobic Digester facility. An anaerobic digester is a system that breaks down organic waste in an oxygen-free environment. Through this process, we’re able to convert waste into renewable natural gas and nutrient-rich compost. The renewable natural gas produced at the facility is captured, refined, and used to fuel our fleet of trucks! Meaning that the waste you place in your organics cart is transformed into energy that powers our daily operations. Even more exciting, we are the only waste and recycling company that fuels our own fleet using natural gas generated directly from the materials we collect. I am grateful for this opportunity to see this process firsthand and to be part of a company that continues to lead with innovation and a commitment to a cleaner, smarter future.
