At the invitation of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber’s ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ukraine, a group of companies that are members of the Ukrainain visited Austria last week. The focus was on learning from Austrian experience, meeting leading manufacturers, and engaging with international financial institutions to explore solutions for advancing sustainable #districtheating in #Ukraine. During the visit, the delegation saw how some of the world’s leading cogeneration units are produced at Betriebsrat INNIO Jenbacher GmbH & Co OG, explored pre-insulated piping solutions at Isoplus, and gained insights into turnkey project implementation at Bilfinger. They also looked into Polytechnik’s expertise in bioenergy and Klinger Fluid’s industrial valve manufacturing. In Mürzzuschlag, the group explored a practical model of phasing out gas: Austria’s largest ground-mounted solar thermal plant supplies the city with hot water in summer, while a #biomass boiler plant covers demand in winter. A town of just 8,000 residents yet a powerful example of thinking at scale. Financing was another key focus. In meetings with representatives of the EBRD, the The World Bank, and other institutions, the delegation discussed available financial instruments and grant support for #Ukrainian municipalities and district #heating companies. We are grateful to ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ukraine and our Austrian partners for organizing and funding the visit, for their openness in sharing expertise, and for their genuine attention to Ukraine. Some of our companies returned not only with new contacts, but with concrete agreements in place. We look forward to further strengthening this partnership 🤝
