March 21, National Renewable Energy Day, reminds me of the progress that City Utilities is making toward a reliable energy future. ☀ï¸💨🍃 City Utilities has already reduced carbon emissions by 30 percent compared to 2005, and we're working on a 70% carbon reduction by 2035, with a goal of net-zero carbon by 2050. We’re reaching these goals through smart, practical investments throughout Springfield like our hydrogen-capable natural gas generation, battery energy storage and long-term wind and solar agreements. Through Smart Solutions, we also help customers save energy and money with rebates, tools and tips that keep homes and businesses comfortable.
