Stepping into a 50 MW gas engine power plant for the first time was an experience I won’t forget. On March 5th, 2026, I officially completed my first internship as an Operation & Maintenance Engineer at PT Maxpower Indonesia –PLTMG Baloi 2 (Batam) ⚡ Over the past two months, I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand how a 50 MW gas engine power plant operates behind the scenes. From monitoring multiple engines in the control room to observing maintenance activities on Jenbacher gas engines, this internship showed me how complex systems rely on precise data, teamwork, and discipline to keep electricity flowing reliably. Some highlights from the experience: 🔹 Monitoring 18 gas engines through a centralized server-based control system in the control room 🔹 Recording and validating key operational parameters such as load, voltage, current, reactive power, lubrication system pressure, cooling water temperature, and exhaust gas temperature to evaluate engine performance and stability 🔹 Learning how electrical and mechanical parameters such as load, voltage, lube oil pressure, and exhaust gas temperature work together to indicate engine health 🔹 Observing preventive maintenance activities and assisting during a turbocharger cleaning process 🔹 Understanding how real-time operational data supports decision-making in power generation Beyond technical knowledge, this internship also taught me the importance of precision, teamwork, and responsibility in critical infrastructure such as power plants. I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team at PT Maxpower Indonesia Site Baloi 2 for their guidance and support throughout this journey. Looking forward to the next chapter of growth 🚀 #Internship #EnergyIndustry #PowerPlant #GasEngine #EngineeringExperience #PLTMG #Maxpower #LearningJourney
