I've been posting consistently on LinkedIn since April 2025.

But I’ve never properly introduced myself.

I’m Mark, a 61-year-old founder of the Silent Authority System, part of the Digital Assured micro-agency, based in Perth, Western Australia.

Here’s my story so far:

1999: Expat in Saudi Arabia, designing diesel and gas power systems for the energy sector.

2000: Launched my own CAD design bureau from home, delivering projects for the nuclear and hydro-electric industries.

2006: Migrated to Western Australia and spent 20+ years in subsea oil & gas.

When the mega-contracts ended, the gaps between roles grew wider—until the phone stopped ringing. That was a hard lesson in relying only on referrals, job boards, and agencies.

The aha moment? Realizing I needed control. Predictable lead flow. Not hope. Not luck. That meant learning content, outreach using DMs, and authority marketing at speed.

In the last 4 months, I've been
→ sending connections,
→ creating consistent content,
→ generating leads and opportunities.

I've helped a small case study group of technical consultants in energy, resources and mining start marketing themselves effortlessly.

For example, a systems engineer who "dreaded marketing" can see how to post with ease, to a following already championing him. And an HSE expert is now clearly showcasing his expertise to the right people.

At 61 years old, I'm in transition towards retirement. But I still run 3 times a week and hit the gym, plus I have 2 adults sons and 2 grandchildren to keep me busy!
